Ms. Doris Arleen Johnson, age 92, of Wilkesboro passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at Wilkes Health and Rehab.

Mrs.  Johnson was born May 15, 1931, in Wilkes County to Ernest & Mattie Rebecca Benge Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with Rev.  Brian Poindexter and Rev. Joey Campbell officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM.  Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.   The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Clinton “RC” Johnson, two sisters, Lucille Johnson (Mitchell), Louise Haynes (Bruce); Eight brothers and sisters in law, Vestal Johnson (Ethel), Junior Johnson (Pauline) Silas Johnson (Bessie), Archie Johnson, Warner Johnson, Chester Johnson, Phillip Johnson and infant brother Paul Johnson and  brother in law Alfred Moretz.

She is survived by one son, Scott (Heather) Johnson of Jonesville; three grandchildren Thomas, Patrick, and Kaitlin Johnson; three sisters, Mozelle Johnson of Wilkesboro, Shirley Church (Rex) of Wilkesboro, Frances Moretz of Millers Creek; two brothers, RM Johnson (Judy) of North Wilkesboro, RV Johnson (Julene) of North Wilkesboro; two sisters in law Wanda Johnson of Moravian Falls, and Norma (Jane) Johnson of Wilkesboro. Survived also by several nieces and nephews.

The Johnson family would like to express their appreciation to Lisa Bowman, Denita Honeycutt, Yupi Prevette, Mary Alice Harris, Norma (Jane) Johnson, Janice Souther, also special neighbors Alan and Jean Cole, and Doris’  sister Mozelle, and Doris' brother RM, for their exceptional care of Doris during her sickness.
